To those of you wondering, I have not forgotten about this blog. My blog is in the process of reconstructive surgery - aka. getting a new face so that kwokskreations is transported into oblivion and the new one resurfaces as an unrecognizable, improved version of this one. haha. No, but seriously - be patient my little grasshoppers, because I am moving addresses soon, and I hope that you will continue to follow me =)

For now, here is a peek at what I will be putting on my new blog...

beautiful, sunshiny days...
hungry piggies looking for a treat...
blank canvases begging to be painted on...
 sad, outdated 90's nostalgia...
 juicy burgers galore...
  tempting sweets...
 cupcake crafts and donut cushions...
my beloved thrift-store treasures...
...and hopefully, friends to share all these adventures with. =)

So, FRIEND, I would love to have you visit my new site... I'll post the link here in a few days!

Clearly, the randomness has not left - it will only get more random from here.

You have been warned.

=)

blog lagging

Okay... seriously, I feel lethargic like Mikey here (yes, I stalk him when he's sleeping. I'm a creeper like that).  I'm pretty much lagging behind in posting the random stuff on my blog that I would LIKE to be posting, but HAVE NOT, for whatever reason. I no longer have sporadic, itching, 3AM urges to work on this blog... maybe it's because I've actually been trying to sleep before 1:00am these days. I feel like my blog is messy and awkward and random and chaotic and disorganized. like my LIFE. Aghh!! Anyway, I shall try to post something worth reading soon, in more sane proportions.

Okay bye.

BLAHHHHHH!!!!! CHAOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Piggies in Portland

Hiii everyone! I'm back from Portland and I wish I were still there. Since I am in vacation withdrawal phase, here are some pictures from my trip for your viewing pleasure...

On our vacation, we feasted like pigs.

Here we have Pok Pok's famous Fish-Sauce Chicken Wings + Catfish dish!
(if you haven't been to Pok Pok, you should go!)

We also went shopping... (as shown by my new necklace here)...

...and we visited the Tillamook Cheese Factory... which also conveniently sold ice-cream.

I love the architecture and style of the old buildings in downtown Portland...

...and I also love the ginormous restroom indicators at the outlet mall
that I just had to androgynously pose with.

Overall, the weather was quite sunny while we were there,
and cherry blossoms were blooming everywhere!

I hope all the coming weekends are this fabulous.

In the end, the moments I enjoyed most were the simple ones - like singing along with the radio
during the long car rides or taking an after-dinner stroll in a quaint little neighborhood
where time seemed to linger, just for awhile.

Mindless Mumblings and Random Ramblings

So I'm sitting at school with a million thoughts zipping through my mind.

Thought #1: I have a Tim Hortons XL steeped tea beside me. What are the chances that THIS IS THE ONE? God knows how many times I've been disappointed by the Please Try Again.

Thought #2: I have a 10 page Study Guide aka. THE MASTERPIECE beside me. It holds all the answers to life. Or at least to this test. What are the chances that I will actually have the motivation to read it in the next few hours?

Thought #3: I can't believe I actually slept with said Study Guide underneath my pillow last night, hoping that somehow the info would evaporate upwards and into my brain. Come on... it works for naive elementary school children!! ... (some things never change)...

Thought #4: Tomorrow I have my last University class ever with the prof that sleeps in her own guest speakers' presentations (multiple times). Right after class I will be going home to take a nap and then driving down to Portland for a weekend getaway!!! I'VE NEVER BEEN THERE!! I'M SO EXCITED! (no one cares! have pity and pretend you do!)

Thought #5: Actually I have yet to tell my parents about the trip... I should do that today. Actually, I have yet to tell them that I have a blog... Also, I have yet to add them on Facebook. (Never). Ignore Friend Request Indefinitely.

Thought #6: The first thing I'm going to do when I get back from my mini vacation is to PAINT A PICTURE. I have been dying to paint something and have been restless for WEEKS to do so. If I don't paint soon, my brain is going to explode onto the canvas (k... violent imagery there.... that would be a gory self-portrait. Ha!)...

Thought #7: The guy who runs the study place I'm in looks EXACTLY like Bilbo Baggins. All he needs is the Shire Theme Song playing discretely in the background while he's working in his little office. I want to follow him home and see if he lives in a Hobbit hole (but the words "stalker" and "restraining order" hinder me from doing so). If you don't get my Lord of the Rings reference, you are a FOOL OF A TOOK and should be eaten by an Orc.

Excellent... my friends have come to join me in the dungeon of endless procrastination... I should stop mindlessly blogging. Time for some hearty studying time!

Thanks for listening to my VERBAL VOMIT! Bye!

Epilogue: (Update on Thought #1:) I got another Please Try Again.

How to Comment 101

So since SOME PEOPLE (*cough* bholla/gill *cough*) were having trouble commenting ... here's a quick note on how to do it. haha. If you don't have a Google account or whatnot, you still have to click on the scroll-down bar beside "Comment As:" but you can choose ANONYMOUS. Then you'll be able to leave a comment =)

Now that I've told you, you have no excuse. hahahahaha.

Also, for those who asked, I do have a tumblr account: [ www.kwokskreations.tumblr.com ] but I don't really know how to use it that well (on tumblr, is the idea just to regurgitate and re-post the stuff everyone else posts? I don't really get it...) Anyway, I basically just upload whatever images I post on this site here. Although they do have this snazzy "slideshow" way of showing my pictures, which is cool. So if you have nothing else better to do, go visit and re-post/steal my stuff if you want =)

Corn vs. Cheese

This coming school week, I think I've got an assignment or quiz every day, so it's gonna feel lonnngggg... It's Sunday night and I'm already looking forward to NEXT weekend haha. In preparation for the Great Monday Depression, I'm posting Pepperoni Face, my fierce sidekick and trusty companion, who can take any greaseball on (mainly because he's the biggest greaseball around).

Also, I finally made a "Kwok's Kreations" signature because someone suggested I should sign all my drawings... and I hardly ever do. But I shall try.

ANOTHER THING: Did anyone notice in the last post, that the two Yoda faces are exactly the same? Extra bonus points if you did. I was too lazy to draw another face so the YODA-PIG is actually a clone hahaha. Oh the wonders of Copy & Paste.

LAST THING: ... since I introduced Pepperoni Face, I feel he's so CHEESY that he needs someone else to rival his cheesiness....

maybe someone corny...

someone like...

ELVIS CORN.

To be quite honest, I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA how I thought of this character, or what kind of relation Elvis has with corn

Anyhow... Here's the {QUESTION OF THE WEEK}:

If Pepperoni Face and Elvis Corn went at it in an epic battle, WHO WOULD WIN?

School Doodles Episode 1: Star Wars Version

The following post is super random... so if you're going to read it, make sure you read it carefully so you can keep up with my train of thought...and even then.... I don't even know if it makes sense. You have been warned.

Sitting through 3 hour lectures is never fun, so to pass the time, I often end up thinking of weird things and drawing them during class.

During our break, I saw a girl walking around campus wearing giant fluffy earmuffs - they were SO HUGE that it reminded me of Princess Leia's monstrous hair-buns from Star Wars...

which led to the thought, "that would be funny if people sold "Princess Leia Earmuffs"....

which led to the thought, "the earmuffs could be made of coiled human hair" (CREEPY)...

which led to the thought, "I shall draw Princess Leia Earmuffs in my next class..."

which I did.

And the result was a sad rendition of a Shopping Channel infomercial, featuring an aged, grumpy-looking Carrie Fischer selling creepy earmuffs made of human hair, and why not throw in some Yoda Headphones for good measure?

Then after spending almost two hours of class (on and off) painstakingly crafting my masterpiece, one of my classmates leans over, looks at the Yoda, and says casually, "that PIG looks familiar". HAHAHA. Then she says, "Is it from a childhood cartoon?" and my other friend says, "No!!! It's YODA from Star Wars". I don't remember what happened after that because my friend and I were too busy laughing at how the artwork that I had been slaving over was just totally demolished with one comment.

Anyway, after that, I decided that Yoda needed to redeem himself.

WITH THIS.

Although I'm not sure that really redeems him. I think I'm just digging myself into a deeper hole.

haha... I still can't get over it. "That PIG looks familiar".

At least she wasn't referring to me.

OH... and by the way.... to make me seem less crazy.... Princess Leia Earmuffs actually DO EXIST.

The power of GOOGLE confirms that I am not insane.

The awesome knit Leia earmuffs were sold on Etsy, and the hilarious fleece hat is from Bleu Arts.
